Building Dedication and Ribbon Cutting Held for Penelope 54-II Apartments

HOUSTON, TX – On November 8, 2014, a dedication ceremony was held to celebrate the official opening of the new senior housing complex Penelope 54-II Apartments. The affordable senior apartment building, for residents of a minimum age of 62 and who meet income guidelines, is located at 8113 Creekbend Drive, Houston, TX. Penelope 54-II is a 45-unit, three-story apartment building owned by AHEPA DOP 54 Phase II, Inc., and is sponsored by AHEPA National Housing Corporation and supported by the local Achaia Chapter #54, Daughters of Penelope, Houston, TX.

The Dedication Ceremony was opened at 1:00pm with welcome by Barbara Maligas and Niki Vaughn, Co-chairs, Dedication Committee. Rev. Father Demetrios Tagaropulos of Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral conducted the opening prayer. Remarks were delivered by Larry A. Green, Council Member, City of Houston; Arthur Poly, CEO/President, AHEPA Management Company; Dr. Barbara Manousso, CEO, Manousso Mediation Training and ADR Services, LLC; Nickolas M. Stratas, Chairman of the Board of Directors, AHEPA National Housing Corporation; Anna-Helene Grossomanides, Grand President, Daughters of Penelope. Speakers included Dr. Edward L. Pringle, Field Office Director Region VI of HUD, and Angelo Kostarides, President of AHEPA National Housing Corporation. Rev. Father Tagaropulos then conducted the Blessing of the Apartments. The ribbon cutting and celebration DSC06740 at 50 reception followed.
